This project focused on creating a secure and private entrance for a traditional Cotswold cottage, with careful attention given to scale, finish and subtle detailing.
The client’s brief was to establish a clearly defined private area behind the gates while maintaining the character of the property. To achieve a clean and consistent shut line, driveway levels were carefully adjusted to prevent tapering of the gate bottom rails, ensuring smooth operation and a balanced appearance.
Three rows of granite setts were installed between the stainless-steel foundation casings to provide a refined visual transition and a crisp threshold detail. On this occasion, the hardwood gates had been supplied separately by a respected local joinery workshop, and our role was to integrate them seamlessly into the overall project.
A fully concealed underground automation system was installed using stainless steel foundation casings, delivering reliable operation while keeping all modern infrastructure discreetly hidden. The result is a secure, understated entrance that sits comfortably within its traditional setting.
Highly recommend KP Gates - Kevin and Mitch are a pleasure to work with. Fantastic workmanship and service throughout. The bespoke metal posts and hinges look superb, and the installation was spot-on. We are delighted with the finished gates.
